I will not interact with minors, both IC and OOC. I'm an adult, I don't want to talk to kids, full stop.
Don't blur the lines between IC and OOC. I am not my character(s). If we start having issues ooc because of issues ic, or vice versa, we won't get far.
don't make assumptions on how my character will react to something, to any extent. If you need them to do something to keep the scene moving (i.e. say they start following your character), double-check with me. I'm usually open to little things, but I don't like when people assume how my character will respond without asking first.
on erp/romance: Auriel is taken but poly, and in an open relationship. This is a non-negotiable part of his character. If you're looking for monogamy, he's not your guy. I'm also really not interested in roleplaying a bunch of one night stands. If that's all you're looking for out of him, consider someone else. I'd much rather have something like that happen naturally.
if you don't like wol characters, you probably won't like auri. I'm always happy to adjust around other folks' characters, but if that's an immediate no for you, he's not your guy.

I prefer Discord RP to in-game RP, as I tend to lean towards more long-form roleplay. That doesn't mean I'm opposed to in-game rp, I just prefer the flexibility of Discord. We can always discuss preferences beforehand!
roleplay is always smoother if there's a goal in mind! If you're interested in engaging with Auriel, let's sit down and make a game plan! If we have something in mind, it makes the writing that much easier for both of us.
on combat: I'm happy to use dice or freeform. If we're doing the latter, I'll leave anything Auri does open to either succeed or fail and would appreciate if you do the same. I'm also happy to discuss action outcomes OOC and determine whether something works that way!
on injury: Auriel is of the "swing second, hit hard" mentality. Unless you're actively attacking him, he's very difficult to provoke. That said, if our characters do come to blows, I'm happy to discuss the long-term consequences that may have!

I can be a bit shy/get overwhelmed easily. I love meeting new people! My social battery can be limited though. If we're talking normally and I suddenly come off as standoffish, I probably just need to recharge. I promise it's not personal, and I'll usually give a warning if I notice myself getting that way!

Since he could throw a proper punch, Auriel has been a mercenary to make ends meet. Though he often works alongside his longterm partner, he'll pick up solo jobs here and there. That said, he's never been great with his words, preferring to communicate in simple grunts and gestures. Being more chatty is usually for the client's sake, though what he lacks in verbal skills he makes up for in attentiveness.

i.

Doma falls to the Garlean Empire

Out on merchant business in Kugane, an expecting Qestir couple is faced with a dilemma: risk capture on the journey back to the Azim Steppe, or flee the Far East in hopes of safe refuge for their growing family? Along with their Kha escort, the couple opted to board a ship to Eorzea.

ii.

The child is born in the Black Shroud

Despite the trials of their journey, the couple is blessed with a healthy baby boy. There is much celebration within the small band, and they spend time in the Shroud recouping. Outsiders are hardly welcome, however, and they are determined to continue searching for a new home.

iii.

The child is orphaned

Disaster in the Shroud. Their escort is felled by a beast, and the couple is left to handle the wary locals themselves. Their silence is met with mistrust, driving them further west. On the border of Coerthas and Dravania do they meet their fates encountering an aggressive draconic patrol.

Ser Runil dies in the Dragonsong War

Spared by his mother's quick-thinking, the child is discovered in the foliage by a Temple Knight patrol. Seeing the state of his parents, Ser Runil takes pity on the boy and advocates that he be brought to Foundation's orphanage. He is in no place to adopt but visits up until his death on the front lines of the Dragonsong War.
